The 12th piano concert

I had the 12th piano concert at a nearby nursing home today.
I was invited to perform at the place in 2002 for the first time, and have tried giving concerts annually since then.
So the people there are mostly familiar to me, having some new faces each time, though.

They all love classical music, but this time, I played famous music from movies, and familiar jazz numbers just for a change.
I wasn't sure whether they would also enjoy these kind of music, but I was pretty much sure that they would KNOW the old soothing tunes.
However, it turned out that most of them never heard of these music. It was really surprising and interesting to hear!

Anyway, I was relieved to hear after the concert that they enjoyed the pleasant music, even though they hadn't heard it before.
It's my real pleasure to see people's happy faces by what I did.
One of the audiences asked me to play " A minute waltz" by Chopin next time.
I'm willing to take their requests; I'm always well motivated to pracitce more!

Hi, arie!
Thanks for your insightful message. :D
Oh, Hayashi Eitetsu!!! I've been wanting to listen to his drum for a long time!
I'm sure you two enjoyed his drum work and its vibration to your heart's content.

I'm happy to see your cute face back again! :D

Hi, Carrie,

Thanks for your quick response to my message as always.
Judging from what you've written, you must be receptive to what you're taught, which helps you cultivate yourself in many ways.
This evening I enjoyed the Japanese drum performance by Hayashi Eitetsu with my wife.
I was deeply moved by his indefatigable energy and commitment to his art.
See you tomorrow.

Hi, arie!
Thanks much for your message. I'm certain you were born into this world as a real teacher, as you love teaching so much. :D
I don't like teaching so much like you do, even though I know it helps people very much.
I like to be taught much better than teach somebody..... my first love was a Japanese teacher in my junior high school! lol
Propably, I was destined to like some teacher in this world.

I always admire your dedication to help people around you by using what you have. :D

Hi, Carrie,

I feel happy when I'm making some preparations for what I'm supposed to do such as teaching Japanese to people from abroad, giving an English class to my students, helping beginners in table tennis to acquire some advanced skills, etc., probably because it gives me a sense of fulfillment by helping others.
I'd like to appreciate other people around me who kindly give me opportunities to make my life worth living.

Well, Carrie, I have no idea why I have a " ? " mark instead of my avatar.
There must be something wrong happening to my avatar anyway.

Hi, arie!
I'm always very happy to hear from you. :D
I kind of knew you don't mind spending loads of time for your preparation work.
If we don't think it's waste of time for doing things which we don't make money, I believe those are the stuff we really meant to do. Or as you said, those are our true missions in this world.
We are certainly born to broaden our happiness in each stage of our lives. And there's no end to that.
I perform because I'd like to feel happiness inside me. It's wonderful if my happiness creates others' happiness as well! :D

BTW, I can't see your cute face, or your avatar in the box. Did you do anything?

Hi, Carrie,

I'm really glad to hear that you've had great pleasure and satisfaction out of your 12th piano performance for people living in your nearby nursing home.
You're lucky to be blessed with your skill in playing the piano so that you can entertain other people directly through your performance.
Personally, I feel very happy when I have something to give to other people and I don't mind spending plenty of time making preparations for that purpose.
We may have been borne into this world to give pleasure to other people with what we're endowed since our birth.
Thanks for sharing your happiness with us.

Hi,Carrie!
Playing the piano and making people happy seem to be your mission.
I also feel comfortable to listen to music even if I don't know the tunes.
Seiji Ozawa mentioned on TV that music reflected the personality of the performers.
A generous person creates generous music, so I believe your performance was nice to the audience.
I'm really honored to have a friend like you.
