The Avrocar - Top Secret Flying Saucer
produced in 1952-1961.
アブロカー：1952-1961年生産された最高機密の空飛ぶ円盤。
The Avrocar was a VTOL aircraft
developed by Avro Aircraft Ltd. (Canada)
as part of a secret U.S. military project
carried out in the early years of the Cold War.
アブロカーは初期冷戰時代行った、米軍機密の一環として
アブロ・カナダによって垂直離着陸機に開発された。
Two prototypes were built
as "proof-of-concept" test vehicles
for a more advanced USAF fighter and
also for a U.S. Army tactical combat aircraft requirement.
２機のプロトタイプ（原型）が「米空軍高等戦闘機」、
また「米陸軍戦略戦闘航空機」の要求事項を合わせるために
「概念的証拠」として作られた。
In flight testing, the Avrocar proved to have
unresolved thrust and stability problems
that limited it to a degraded, low-performance flight envelope;
subsequently, the project was cancelled in September 1961.
飛行試験でアブロカーは、立ち後れされて、飛行を低級な水準に限定する
未解決のスラストと安全性の問題を持ったことが判明された。
ついにプロジェクトは1961年9月に中止された。

さっそく、行ってみました。
空を飛ぶのかと想像していましたが、「飛行高度も僅か1m弱・・・」だったのですね。
でも、実現していたら、川など、橋がなくても渡れますねー。＾＾
余計なことで混乱と迷惑をかけてすみません。
